You will be working for the Southampton office of this successful and established multi-office practice based in Hampshire.
They are currently looking for a Bookkeeper and Payroll Administrator and the ideal candidate will preferably have been working in the Payroll or Bookkeeping Department of a professional accountancy practice for at least two years or have other relevant experience. The role will involve the provision of payroll and bookkeeping services to clients.
It is likely that you will have knowledge of various payroll software packages, including Sage, and various bookkeeping software packages, including Quickbooks Online, Xero and Sage. You should be able to supervise all aspects of the preparation of payrolls for clients and have knowledge of Auto Enrolment and payrolling benefits in kind. Maintaining controls for monthly/quarterly/annual payrolls to ensure no deadlines are missed will also be a part of your remit.
You will have a well-organised and methodical approach to the workload and be able to manage deadlines and prioritise conflicting demands. You will be confident and articulate with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues. It is important that you maintain up-to-date and relevant technical tax and VAT knowledge and have good attention to detail. You should value a team working environment as well as being able to work independently with limited guidance and maintain a positive and caring attitude towards your work and your colleagues.
