Info about what the EC&I Designer entails
Develop EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) designs independently with minimal senior oversight.
Focus primarily on Control & Instrumentation (C&I) design, with some Electrical design involvement.
Produce Instrument & Control drawings using AutoCAD, including:
Block cable diagrams
Loop diagrams
Termination diagrams
Cable routing & containment GAs
Panel schematics & GAs
Develop Scope of Work documents and other EC&I-related documentation.
Prepare cable schedules, bill of materials, equipment lists, instrument schedules, and data sheets.
Support Electrical design tasks where required, including:
Single line diagrams
Electrical connection diagrams
Motor control schematics
Electrical distribution diagrams & schedules
Cable calculations
Earthing system designs
Work on a DCS upgrade project with general industrial systems, making experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Water, or similar industries highly relevant.
Requirements of the EC&I Designer
Proven ability to develop Electrical, Control & Instrumentation designs independently, with a strong bias towards Control & Instrumentation.
Background in industrial sectors such as Nuclear, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Water or similar.
Skilled in producing EC&I design deliverables using AutoCAD, including wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, panel schematics, and instrumentation schedules.
Familiarity with electrical design tasks such as single-line diagrams, motor control schematics, and earthing system designs is desirable.
Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, with 3 days in the office (Northwest or Midlands) and 2 days remote.
