Are you an experienced highways engineer looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a Senior CS&A Engineer (Highways) to lead the design development and delivery of highway engineering work packages for a major client programme.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will act as a key interface with the design house, evaluating designs, suggesting modifications, and ensuring high-quality outputs in line with scope, schedule, and cost. You will also play a vital role in maintaining quality and risk management standards while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
Manage the design development of one or more technical highway engineering packages, ensuring project objectives are met.
Evaluate and interface with design houses, suggesting modifications as needed.
Ensure design documentation meets agreed standards, schedules, and budgets.
Assist in maintaining compliance with Quality Management Arrangements and Technical Manuals.
Communicate risks effectively and ensure contractors understand associated hazards.
Support the justification of engineering activities within the Facility Safety Case.
Liaise with the Engineering Services Technical Authority to ensure best practices are followed.

Qualifications
Qualifications/Skills to be successful:
A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer status (or actively working toward it).
Strong experience managing design packages within civil engineering or highways projects.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
Membership of a relevant professional institute.
Experience in both commercial and defence projects.
Expertise in traffic design/management and human factors.
Additional Information
Umbrella contractor or staff position.
Hybrid working with visits once a week to the Client site in Plymouth.
Sole UK Nationals required, capable of securing SC status. Can commence work with BPSS.
