As a Bid Writer, your primary responsibility will be to enhance the quality of our bid submissions by creating persuasive and well-structured bid documents that effectively communicate our strengths and meet client requirements. Your contributions will be vital in securing new projects and particularly with the launch of our new energy division in Story Scotland., The role will be based from our office in Blantyre with the flexibility of hybrid working. The purpose of the role is to support the delivery of the Story Scotland Business Plan through the preparation and submission of Pre-qualification Questionnaires (PQQ) / Expressions Of Interest / ITT's / Technical Quality Submissions within tight timescales to secure tendering opportunities., As an experienced Bid Writer and reporting to the Business Development Manager your duties will include:
* Producing professionally written EOI, PQQ and ITT responses that consistently win work.
* Driving continuous improvement and innovation throughout the bid process.
* Developing case studies, collateral, CVs, and evidence to support long term positioning.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in bid writing.
* Lead storyboard sessions with wider bid team members to develop winning solutions
* Proactively develop and manage a network of subject matter experts
* Identify and re-work existing pre-written content where relevant
* Write content in a compelling and simplistic way that reinforces the win themes of the bid
* Develop written responses under pressure to meet client deadlines
* Proofread, edit, and re-write responses from subject matter experts, typically involving technical or engineering content
* Prepare and develop client presentations
* Update and maintain our internal bid library

* Previous experience in a multidisciplinary rail and civils/construction environments with Track record in working on and winning complex, high value bids.

* Advanced MS Word skills and proficient in MS Office
* Understanding of Health & Safety/Environmental Legislation
* Enthusiastic team player, Degree level education is preferred but candidates with suitable experience will be considered
* Experience of civil engineering and/or rail sectors
* Tier 1/2 contractor experience
* Project Management experience
* APMP certification and/or knowledge of the Shipley process
* Full driving licence
