LI-HW2 Position Summary: The Materials Manager is accountable for ensuring the procurement team deliver executional procurement and materials requirement planning, including excess inventory management, in support of site revenue objectives and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. Key Accountabilities: Ensure production can be executed as planned while achieving optimised inventory levels. Manage execution of materials procurement in line with Dover Code of Conduct. Exemplify Dover Zero Harm Rules in support of a safe working environment; Key Responsibilities: Create the circumstances for world-class management and supply of parts to the manufacturing process; Coach and develop talent to build a high-performance team through Standard Work; Lead, develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement in accordance with Lean principals and PDCA methodology; Lead strategic thinking on lean material flow and support the development and integration of the Plan for Every Part in terms of supply assurance and inventory management; Establish, manage and develop day to day priorities of the process and direct reports through Standard Work; Provide consistent and thorough measurement and reporting of performance through performance dashboards and KPI’s etc.; Calculate operational metrics and analyse progress against targets; ensure team activities are aligned for effective corrective action where required (trust in data); Create world class business management process, procedures, work instructions and ensure team members are competent in their application; Skills & Knowledge Strong analytic capability and ability to formulate plans from data Excellent communication and inter-personal skills – able to lead and influence team, peers and management Lean problem-solving skills – root cause analysis, A3 Ability to coach, motivate and develop team members Strong IT skills; MS and Oracle in particular Knowledge of production planning/scheduling Understanding of interaction between manufacturing operations and inbound supply chains Self-motivated and orientated towards continually improving performance Candidate Experience and Qualification: •Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment is essential. •Experience of continuous improvement/ lean manufacturing / 6 Sigma tools and techniques in particular relating to waste elimination. •A career in successfully managing and developing a multi-skilled manufacturing team. •Experience in financial and budgetary planning at department level •Commercial experience advantageous, but not essential The information contained within this job description overview is not intended to be all-inclusive.
