Our client is a leading PE Backed business based in the LE4 (with hybrid working) area specialising within the Service industry.
As part of the company's continued expansion (both organic and via acquisition), FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of an Assistant Management / Financial Accountant.
This position promises to be varied and progressive and will support the Group Financial Controller with a number of key tasks as part of the company's continued expansion. While experience within a similar role is desirable, my client is also open to progressive candidates that have previously operated as an Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant / Book Keeper seeking to move into an Assistant Management / Financial Accountant Position.
A key member of the accounting team, providing direct support to the Financial Controller for the Group, the role includes:
1. Primary responsibility for daily cash management & postings, sales ledger, fixed assets, and revenue transactions.
2. Daily banking, cash posting, and cash allocation to support the Group’s Treasury function.
3. Revenue processing and reconciliation to the Group’s accounting system (Xero).
4. Bank account administration, petty cash & wages processing, bank reconciliations, and cash book.
5. Operation of the Sales Ledgers, collating and posting recharges, and generating sales invoices.
6. Maintenance of the Fixed Assets register, including creation, processing invoices, and generating Monthly Depreciation Journals.
7. Reconciliation and balance of Control Accounts on a monthly basis.
8. Provide monthly reporting to management and the required audit information for revenues, sales ledger, fixed assets, and cash.
9. Continuous process improvement to enhance the efficiency of the accounting function.
10. Resolve Nominal Ledger cost allocation queries, posting monthly and ad hoc journals.
11. Undertake ad hoc duties as required and work as part of a team to achieve monthly and annual team timetables and goals.
12. Assist in the management of monthly payroll for around 100 staff, including P11D’s.
The ideal candidate will be working towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA with broad finance experience ideally gained within a similar role. Those that aren’t actively studying but can demonstrate suitable experience will be considered, and this client has agreed to provide study support for those wishing to progress.
A good level of IT Literacy is key; experience of Xero is desirable but not essential, however, candidates will need to be competent users of MS Excel.
In return, a competitive basic salary of up to £35,000 including a bonus, excellent benefits, and study support towards AAT / ACCA / CIMA can be offered, along with excellent scope for development.
