A new exciting opportunity has arisen within BCHCFT’s Dental Division for a full-time Lead Dental Nurse Tutor (AFC Band 7) to join the School of Dental Nursing Team. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective provision of dental nurse education to include Continual Professional Development (CPD) of staff and students for training programmes both pre and post registration.
Main duties of the job
This role will have responsibility for the management and development of all staff and students within the School of Dental Nursing to ensure the smooth running and delivery of education. They will also take on the role of Lead Internal Quality Assessor (IQA). We are seeking an individual who is innovative, forward-thinking, flexible and can evidence strong leadership qualities.
The post holder will be responsible to the Dental Matron and will work in close collaboration with their line manager and Divisional Director of Nursing & Therapies, Dental Nurse Tutors, Dental Nurse Management Team, Learning and Development Team as well as a large team of clinical staff and students. The post holder will be an experienced Dental Nurse and hold a recognised teaching and management qualification. The post holder will also need to evidence their CPD as part of their application. Qualifications/ training
* A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or relevant teaching experience
* Registration with the General Dental Council
* City & Guilds Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer qualifications
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Experience
* Extensive post qualification experience in a wide range of dentistry
* Supervisory or training experience
* Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
* Experience giving PowerPoint or other presentations
