Job Description
An outstanding specialist school for children with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs based in Oxford are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Graduate to work as a SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with behaviour and mental health issues. Ideally the Graduate will have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology but other subjects will also be considered. Candidates with relevant experience will also be considered! The SEN School is in Oxford and the role is full-time starting ASAP. The SEN children are aged 4 to 11 and require consistent, ongoing support in order to ensure they have the highest quality of care and child-centred support. Experience in a similar role would be desirable but not essential. Graduates in a similar field will also be considered (e.g. Psychology, Criminology etc).
Responsibilities
* Support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
* Work alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists.
* Provide consistent, ongoing support to SEN children aged 4 to 11.
* Mentor and shadow sessions with on-site professionals.
* Be proactive and adaptable in the classroom environment.
Requirements
* A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or relevant experience.
* Level 3 qualifications+ are required.
* Resilience and confidence to work with challenging behaviour is desirable.
* A passion for supporting children with complex needs.
