An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Pulmonary Rehabilitation team for a dynamic and enthusiastic Band 6 Respiratory Practitioner (Nursing or Physiotherapy background) within Kent. We have one post available in our Whitstable and Thanet locality. The wider team provides Pulmonary Rehabilitation services across East Kent and DGS (Dartford, Gravesham and Swanley) localities. The successful candidate would be working alongside a band 7 Physiotherapist and therapy assistant practitioners, supported by an admin team to deliver a high quality service.
Skills
This is a skilled post with the expectation that you will provide clinical knowledge and skills to assess and treat patients with chronic respiratory conditions in a community setting. This post will allow you to further develop your specialised respiratory skills whilst working as an independent practitioner. Your input into this service allows patients to improve their functional ability, breathlessness management and overall quality of life. Working within Pulmonary Rehabilitation gains great job satisfaction when you receive positive feedback from patients such as:

You will play a key part in engagement with integrated accountable care organisations. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation service is currently working with different healthcare providers in Kent and continues to develop the respiratory pathway and the service to serve the local population. The service currently provides regular in-service training, clinical supervision, protected CPD time, and input into local clinical interest groups. The trust also encourages staff to develop and provide training opportunities internally and externally as identified during the annual appraisal process. The Trust has also achieved Foundation Trust Status and rated as ‘Outstanding’ by CQC. The service was also the first within the South East to achieve accreditation status with the Royal College of Physicians.
It is essential that you are HCPC registered with proven experience and knowledge in a respiratory specialised field. Driving or access to transport is also essential for this post. There is an option of hours from a minimum of 22.5 hours up to a maximum of 37.5 hours. Total vacancies 1 WTE, service will offer flexibility for working hours and location.
