Are you a strategic leader with a passion for driving growth, innovation, and excellence in the water industry? AECOM is looking for a Regional Director - West England & Wales to lead a dynamic, 90-strong team delivering sustainable water solutions that protect communities and enhance the environment.
The water business works with clients to create and deliver a full range of sustainable solutions across the hydrological cycle, water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure that safeguard human health and protect and enhance the built and natural environment. Responsibilities:
* Report directly to the Water - England & Wales Sub-Business Unit Director and collaborate with fellow Regional Directors.
* Foster a culture where AECOM is recognised as a top employer, upholding our values and championing equity, diversity, and inclusion, while promoting employee engagement and ongoing development.
* Contribute to and implement a growth plan that aligns with the Water Business Unit's strategic vision.
* Take full accountability for the performance of the regional Water sub-business, managing approximately 90 staff across Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, and Plymouth offices, with key performance metrics including NSR, Gross Margin %, Cost Utilisation %, FTEs, and employee attrition.
* Share joint accountability with the leadership team for delivering the overall P&L for the Water sub-business in England & Wales.
* Ensure resources are in place to meet project plans, including identifying recruitment and succession needs.
* Collaborate with the Delivery Excellence Director to ensure successful management of projects and programs, from prepositioning to completion, including periodic reviews.
* Work closely with framework managers and directors to secure new business opportunities, while maintaining exceptional client satisfaction.
* Support the development and implementation of innovative and digital solutions, driving business performance and enhancing service delivery.
* Lead initiatives that maximise staff technical development in your region, working with the Technical Excellence Director, Practice Area Leads, and technical heads.

Here's what we're looking for:
* Proven experience in a leadership role within an environmental consultancy or a key supplier to the water sector.
* A track record of successfully building, developing, and leading teams, including multi-disciplinary project teams.
* Strong understanding of water markets and the socio-political and economic drivers influencing the sector.
* Demonstrated ability to provide growth-oriented leadership, fostering talent development and offering mentorship to team members.
* Solid financial and budget management skills.
* A successful history of securing new business and maintaining long-term client relationships, with exceptional skills in building trust and rapport.
* Experience in managing and motivating diverse, multi-disciplinary teams to achieve high performance.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills that facilitate effective collaboration and connection.
* Flexible and proactive in approach to work, with the ability to adjust to changing needs and priorities.
* Skilled at developing and nurturing positive business relationships, with a focus on finding mutually beneficial solutions.
