Description We are looking to recruit a trainee Portfolio Analyst, who will be involved in helping to develop the investment framework used to structure portfolios for our clients. This is a great opportunity for an analytical thinker to start their career in wealth management, with a detailed training programme to support your success. Once you are up to speed you will be responsible for the investigation of portfolio management activities across a broad range of teams and client portfolios, each with a bespoke investment objective. You will also help develop and document investment strategies with senior investment professionals across the business, as well as prepare reporting on key areas of focus and engage with a wide range of internal stakeholders. Key Areas of Responsibility: Contribute to the ongoing oversight, help design controls, and work to develop tools for Portfolio Management within Investment Management Services (IMS). Monitor adherence to investment restrictions and tolerance levels, ensuring remedial action is taken. Collate investment trends and performance, summarising for the Investment Performance Oversight Committee and IMS Management. Support the directors in their supervision of investment strategy by engaging with investment managers to understand how their investment philosophy is driving client outcomes. Stay updated on financial news, market trends, and research opportunities. Collaborate with portfolio managers and investment directors to prepare detailed reports and presentations for the management team. Evaluate performance through quantitative analysis and financial modelling to provide insightful recommendations based on analysis. Maintain accurate and up-to-date investment records, preparing annual and quarterly reports as required. Support the development of investment policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, identifying potential risks, and developing mitigation strategies. Qualifications & Experience: Experience of working in a regulated environment. Strong academic profile with knowledge of Economics and/or Investment Markets. Knowledge & Skills: Strong analytical and quantitative skills. Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis. Excellent understanding of financial markets and investment strategies. Advanced knowledge of Excel and financial software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to make data-driven decisions.
