What you’ll be responsible for
As a Data Specialist, you will play a key role contributing to the Business Intelligence team, ensuring data quality, developing Power BI reports, and supporting various data-driven projects to help DCWW make informed decisions. You will be responsible for:
1. The delivery of key data and analytical outputs, either solely or through close collaboration with other Data Team colleagues, that directly support strategic objectives belonging to the entire organisation using Power BI.
2. Effective capture of stakeholder requirements and establishing appropriate means of communicating with stakeholders, throughout the project lifecycle, to ensure final solutions are as expected.
3. Be able to analyse data and business requirements to a high standard and confidently communicate and present your findings in a manner that best suits your audience.
4. Realising and promoting the benefits within your projects and capturing the efficiencies as required.
5. Ensuring that best practice is used when working on projects, adhering to relevant internal processes intended to assure the protection of the data and completion of the required project documentation.
6. Supporting strategic initiatives intended to develop the data knowledge and skills of others.
7. Carry out other related duties as required to meet business needs.

About you
* Strong data handling skills, and an understanding of key data management and data governance concepts.
* Previous experience working with data, such as through data analysis or data reporting.
* Experience with Power BI.
* Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
* Being able to work with stakeholders at all levels across our organisation, and be able to translate business needs into clear technical requirements for data/analytical work.
* Strong data analysis skills, being able to select appropriate techniques when analysing data, and using effective means for visualising and communicating key outputs.

The role will be hybrid working from our Cardiff Linea office, which will be around once a week or once every 2 weeks depending on the business needs.
