The Job Coach Role
In this position as Job Coach, you will work four days a week. You will work three of these days with Right2Work partner Mighty Oak Initiative, an alternative education provider who works with young people unable to meet their potential in mainstream education. You will help support Mighty Oak learners with employability skills and support them in work placements. The fourth day is to support Right2Work with other programmes as required.
You will primarily be based at our head office in Kendal, but will be expected to travel to the surrounding areas as required. Experience is not required as full training is provided. This is a unique role with no two days the same, working across a wide range of host employment & learning settings.

Job coaching can involve support with completion of tasks, observations, creating prompts, checklists, task analysis, setting achievable targets, supporting communication skills, supporting with interview skills, and travel training where appropriate.
You will be working with young adults with learning disabilities and/or Autism who have an EHCP (Educational Health and Care Plan), supporting them to identify suitable work placements as well as helping learners to progress into paid employment.
You will help individuals with skills, qualifications, and job matching, and liaise with learners and employers, supporting learners to develop their independence and reach their full potential.
Key tasks will include: Working 1:1 with learners, group work, travel training, observations and prompts, working closely with employers & training providers.
About You
We are looking for a range of transferrable skills, including good organization, self-motivation, and determination to support people to succeed. You must be passionate, committed, and share our values about employment opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people.
You must hold a Full Driving License and have access to a vehicle for work. You will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by Right2Work, T&Cs apply).
