The Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Performing Arts Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will provide efficient and effective support to lecturing staff and students, including supervision, instruction, and assessment. This role requires working collaboratively with the Senior Curriculum Manager and colleagues across the College, as well as taking an active role in professional development.

* Demonstrate Equipment and Software Use: Show students how to use equipment and software as directed.
* Supervise Learning Activities: Oversee students’ activities in classrooms, workshops, and studios.
* Prepare Materials and Equipment: Get materials and equipment ready for courses, demonstrations, practical work, and exams.
* Manage Inventory: Handle the inventory, issue, and return of equipment and resources.
* Assemble and Maintain Equipment: Set up and dismantle lighting and sound rigs, and install, check, and maintain new equipment.
* Ensure Smooth Theatre Operations: Organise rigging, lighting, sound equipment, props, and scenery for performances, and operate sound, lighting, and other effects during performances.
Who You Are:
You should have a Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, or possess high-standard industry experience in unrelated subjects. You should have relevant experience in sound engineering, theatre lighting, set building, or a similar role in an educational environment. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills are essential, along with an awareness of the pastoral and academic needs of students from diverse backgrounds. You must be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently on projects with tight deadlines.
