About the role
As one of our Technician Specialists, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to our customers' homes and install products they love, such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets, as part of a 2-person delivery team. You will also share your expertise to coach and develop other delivery drivers in home installations and customer service, serving as a role model for the excellent service John Lewis is known for.
Due to the nature of the role, you must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
* Represent the John Lewis brand with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
* Coach, develop, and assess your delivery colleagues, sharing your knowledge to help them perform at their best.
* Assist in loading your delivery vehicle with the day's items alongside the warehouse team.
* Show respect and courtesy in customers' homes and handle unforeseen situations to find the best solutions.
* Install products efficiently, demonstrate their use, and ensure customer satisfaction.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies to enhance your performance.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Previous installation experience, with training provided through our installer accreditation.
* Manual C1 UK driving licence (max 6 points).
* DCPC (Drivers Qualification Card) and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
* Customer-facing experience.
* Excellent verbal communication skills, both over the phone and in person.
* Ability to handle physical tasks, including delivering large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
* Good understanding of technology.
