Job summary The Special Care Dental Service provides Special Care Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust Foundation Trust, across both Somerset and Dorset. We are looking for two Consultants (Clinical Services Leads) one for Somerset and one for Dorset - in Special Care Dentistry or Paediatric Dentistry, to help lead and develop our Somerset and Dorset teams and shape our community dentistry service. 10 PAs (40 hours) are available for this role. You may currently be working in a role of Consultant, with a strong operational and strategic vision or a Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry or Special Care Dentistry, looking for your next step towards a Consultant position. Based either in Somerset or Dorset we would be looking for someone to support our service for a minimum of 4 days a week, ideally full time, but with some flexibility to be negotiated. Tell us what would work for you. Key to this role is to demonstrate leadership experience and/or potential to drive forward the service into the future. We would ask that you are fully registered with the GDC and on the GDC Specialist Register in Special Care Dentistry or Paediatric Dentistry, be accredited or within six months of such accreditation at interview stage and have completed a SAC approved training programme or have demonstrated equivalent experience and training to allow entry to the specialist list by mediated entry. You must also currently listed on the NHS Dental Performers List, England.
