About the role:
The role of the Warehouse Supervisor is to ensure the safe, effective, and productive operation of all aspects of HFUK's logistics department under the direction of the Logistics Shift Manager. Manage the shift logistic team, ensuring that all targets are met and all procedures are followed.
As a Warehouse Supervisor, some of the responsibilities will be to:
1. Effectively understand and supervise the day-to-day resources of the shift, including awareness of goods coming in and going out, as well as any internal requirements.
2. Prioritize and control work allocated to staff using all resources effectively and efficiently.
3. Retain supervisory awareness at all times, particularly if involved in another task (e.g., assisting with loading/unloading).
4. Ensure that company standards for hygiene and housekeeping are met, with all staff using the correct P.P.E.
5. Manage the training and development of operatives to ensure legal compliance and operational continuity.
6. Work with the Logistics Admin Team to record and resolve any discrepancies and/or problems, ensuring quality checks and operational updates are completed as required.
7. Deputize for the Logistics Shift Manager during periods of absence or annual leave.
8. Control staff breaks effectively to ensure that time is not wasted and operational cover is maintained at all times.
9. Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
10. Carry out formal investigations, where necessary, in line with the company's Disciplinary & Grievance Policy.
To succeed as a Warehouse Supervisor, we ask that you have the following experience/expertise:
1. Proven experience in a warehouse or logistics environment, with a solid understanding of warehouse operations and inventory management.
2. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing a team, with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
3. Knowledge of workplace safety standards and regulations, with experience in implementing and maintaining a safe working environment.
4. Strong analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with different teams and departments.
6. Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met.
