Main duties of the job:
* Provide professional and clinical input as a member of a team of pharmacy staff involved in the delivery of clinical pharmacy services, undertaking a wide variety of duties.
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of medicines use by inputting to clinical governance and risk reduction activities.
* Participate in clinical audit and practice development activities.
Job responsibilities:
* To provide a personal clinical and professional contribution to the clinical pharmacy service within allocated or specific wards at an acute site(s).
* To ensure that there is compliance with medicines policy within allocated or specific wards at an acute site(s).
* To assist in the provision of advice on pharmaceutical matters and that pertaining to medicines management on a regular basis.
* To contribute to the day to day operational running of the pharmacy department e.g. by assuming statutory professional responsibility whilst working in the dispensary.
* To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
Person Specification:
Education:
* Vocational masters degree in pharmacy (or equivalent).
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* Demonstration of competence at pre-registration level.
* Evidence of continuing professional development to at least meet the mandatory requirements of the General Pharmaceutical Council.
* IT skills to at least ECDL standard or equivalent experience.
Desirable:
* Membership of Royal Pharmaceutical Society or groups to assist personal and professional development.
Experience & Knowledge:
* Experience of supervising staff.
