As a Corporate Fundraiser, you will work as part of the corporate team to develop and implement a corporate partnership fundraising strategy and create and maintain a pipeline of corporate activities. This will include managing our existing partnerships to ensure they generate maximum impact and developing and maintaining a mix of new partnerships including transformational and strategic partnerships, charity of the year, and sponsorship in order to meet fundraising targets.
The post will be Scotland-based, a blend of office (Edinburgh-based) and home working. As a hybrid role, the intention is that office-based and external-facing work will constitute 40% of working time over each month. The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our organisation towards achieving its strategic goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership qualities and a proven track record in managing diverse teams while driving financial performance. As the CEO, you will be responsible for overseeing operational management, staff leadership, service development, and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities
1. Service Management: Oversee the delivery of existing services, ensuring they are effective, person-centred, and aligned with our mission.
2. Team Leadership: Provide management and support to staff and volunteers, ensuring a positive and productive working environment.
3. Strategic Development: Lead on the development and implementation of service improvements, including digital support initiatives and flexible service models.
4. Partnership Working: Build and maintain relationships with local organisations, funders, and stakeholders to enhance service provision and partnership opportunities.
5. Community Transport: Oversee the management of the Community Transport fleet, ensuring compliance and efficient operation for service users and community groups.
6. Funding and Reporting: Support funding applications, reporting, and evaluations to sustain and grow services.
7. Safeguarding & Compliance: Ensure that all services operate within regulatory requirements and best practices in safeguarding and data protection.
Person Specification
1. Proven experience in running the full operation of an organisation, with sound knowledge of governance requirements, within the charity, health, or social care sector.
2. Proven experience in service management within the charity, health, or social care sector.
3. SCQF Level 9 or SCQF Level 10 (relevant experience instead of qualification may be considered).
4. Strong and demonstrable leadership and team management skills.
5. Experience in service development, including digital and flexible service models.
6. Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
7. Experience in funding applications and financial oversight.
8. Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and regulatory compliance.
9. A proactive, solutions-focused approach to service delivery.
10. Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances.
11. Experience managing community transport services.
12. Understanding of the challenges facing older and vulnerable adults in North Lanarkshire.
LifeCare is a forward-thinking growing charity with a proud 85-year history of supporting people 50+ across Edinburgh. We employ over 80 staff and are supported by a range of volunteers.
Our Day Services operate Monday to Friday from two locations in Edinburgh (Stockbridge and Portobello). These services offer high-quality day support including pick up and drop off service, alongside days filled with activities, companionship, high-quality lunches, and lots of smiles. In addition, this service provides much-needed support and respite to their unpaid carer.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to lead and develop our Day Service at Portobello. You will make a big difference to people’s lives by leading a dedicated team to deliver a range of activities alongside providing care including personal care where required.
