As the Engineering Support Specialist I, your primary responsibility will be assisting engineers with project coordination, drafting and documentation control. Other duties will include inventory management and sourcing components. Your detailed work product will be an important part of creating new automated systems for a wide range of customers. You will work closely with engineers and machinists in a prototype, first article, environment. Duties/Responsibilities: Project planning, which includes but is not limited to: Procurement and material tracking Tracking resources and project timelines Project updates to the sales team Machine shop job creation and closing in an MRP module Inventory management Bill of Materials (BOM) management Create manufacturing drawings (assembly exploded views) in SolidWorks, adhering to company and ASME Y14 standards Assign part numbers to BOM items in an ERP system Drawing reviews Assist with assembly of prototypes Process BOM and drawing changes (red lines) Source components and component specifications Respond to internal and external customers in a timely manner Other duties as assigned Qualifications/Experience: Experience with drafting/3D modeling preferred Project coordination/planning experience desired SolidWorks Mechanical and PDM experience a plus Strong attention to detail A self-starter who’s able to work independently, with supervision Ability to stay organized and handle multiple projects at once Possess time management skills Proficient in Microsoft Office applications Ability to receive feedback on work performed and implement changes accordingly Self-check work for completeness and accuracy Occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds Teamwork oriented Comfortable having customer facing conversations Highschool diploma or equivalent required 2-year associates degree or drafting certificate a plus An emerging provider of next generation technology solutions, Applied Industrial Technologies has a growing automation footprint and expanding offering of motion control, machine vision, robotic and IIoT technologies, plus related value-added industrial expertise.
