TITLE: Cost Control Engineer
FUNCTION:
The Cost Control Engineer will join a thriving and dynamic team providing commercial support across a multitude of trades including scaffolding, blasting and painting, lagging, cleaning, and flooring services.
REPORTS TO: Commercial Manager
Responsibilities will include the following:
1. Optimise commercial performance through diligent cost control and value for money opportunities, whilst achieving the required standards and quality for our customers.
2. Create and maintain commercial relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
3. Contract administration with both client and subcontractors.
4. Analyse the annual budget in line with actual cost.
5. Prepare and present weekly job cost data analysis.
6. Review of 'work in progress' levels with trade leads following through to final invoicing.
7. Review and recovery of aged debt.
8. Preparation and production of Client SLA monthly Metric reports.
9. Review and update of monthly forecasts.
10. Review and support with monthly trading packs.
11. Subcontractor account management - variation and payments.
EXPERIENCE / EXPECTATIONS & QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Should have a practical, logical, and methodical approach to thinking and problem-solving.
2. Experience of collating costs and maximising value.
3. Possess excellent communication skills.
4. Demonstration of working to deadlines, working efficiently and to a high standard.
5. Be proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook. Experience in Power BI would also be beneficial but not essential.
6. BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent level of education or experience.
7. Experience in the Marine industry would be an advantage but not essential.
