Job Description – Credit Controller
Our Client are a fast paced, invoice finance factoring lender based in Hemel Hempstead. They work with SME businesses to supply vital funding to keep their cashflow running.
JOB PURPOSE OF THE CREDIT CONTROLLER
Credit controllers are a key function in the factoring process. The role purpose is to ensure the debt we have purchased, is payable by the end debtor. Credit controllers are the first point of contact for all debtor communication.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CREDIT CONTROLLER
1. The credit control role is responsible for posting the transactions on their clients ledgers.
2. They are also the first point of contact with communicating with the debtors to ensure validity of the invoices and when they will be paid.
3. The credit controller must balance risk and service, ensuring the invoices are collectable and paid while not being detrimental to the client and debtor relationship.
Account Management
A credit controller manages the portfolio of our clients’ customers. They will verify the invoices and ensure payments terms are adhered to. The credit control team will be required to send copy invoices and resolve disputes to assist with payments made on time. There are various tools to help keep track of the risk in the portfolio to ensure the invoices are paid on time. Contact will be made to debtors through email, telephone and post.
Other Responsibilities
* To undertake other duties within the scope of the job, as directed from time to time.
* Cover team members within different departments.
* Attend monthly credit control portfolio review.
* Attend company training and meetings.
