The Science department at Harrodian is driven by a team of passionate and talented individuals who are now seeking an equally committed Biology specialist with a degree in the subject or similar field, to join us in September 2025. Whether an early career teacher (ECT) or one with a few years of teaching under their belt seeking a fresh challenge, the successful candidate should be well-qualified, highly motivated and have an active interest in educational technology (EdTech).
We offer both AQA GCSE Separate Science and Combined Science Trilogy, as well as the AQA A-Level Biology, Chemistry and Physics courses. We are continually developing our range of teaching resources, including our tech-driven materials for the optimum use of student iPads within lessons. Practical work is integral to our science teaching and we provide a diverse range of opportunities for pupils to develop their skills in our seven well-equipped laboratories.
As a committed member of the team, the successful candidate will contribute to the planning, teaching and assessment within the department. The ability to communicate effectively and share new ideas is therefore essential. In addition, a commitment to delivering co-curricular Science and assisting with our key extended-curricular events, such as our annual Science Week and trips where students can develop their interests, is key.
Founded in 1993, the Harrodian is a co-educational school set on 25 acres of grounds with excellent facilities. Providing staff and students alike with a welcoming and exceptional learning environment, where small class sizes and high standards foster academic excellence, we value enthusiasm, adaptability and a commitment to student engagement across all ability levels. A sense of fun, responsiveness to individual learning needs, and an open approach to teaching are qualities we regard highly. Staff are also expected to contribute to the pastoral and co-curricular life of the school, ensuring a holistic and enriching educational experience for all pupils.
