We are now looking for a specialist product manager with extensive experience and a deep knowledge of the bakery sector to work in tandem with our UK wide sales team to provide expertise and insight to existing and new customer opportunities.
The Role
Reporting to the UK Director of Sales, you will help to grow relationships with existing customers and support the extension of our company footprint in the bakery sector by helping unlock new customer opportunities.
You will have a deep knowledge of the bakery sector and have extensive insights into production processes and applications as well as a solid appreciation of innovation and product development within the sector that can positively influence our organisation’s future thinking.
Responsibilities
* Act as a trusted and expert adviser on bakery to sales team colleagues with existing and prospective customer opportunities.
* Lead as a bakery expert in customer discussions, presentations and bakery specific product trials.
* Build knowledge and insight about the bakery sector with sales team colleagues.
* Collaborate to identify incremental opportunities within the existing customer base.
* Actively identify new customer targets to build a pipeline of opportunities within the bakery sector.
* Stay close to bakery sector innovation and developments to build team knowledge and guide future NPD within the company.
* Actively participate in sales forums to drive business performance aligned to its objectives and strategy.
* Develop a deep understanding of the product range with specific relevance to the applications for the bakery sector.
* Represent the company at industry events, trade shows and conferences to promote the brand and build networks where appropriate.
* Act as a company ambassador, internally and externally, consistently living and breathing the culture and values.
Requirements
* Proven experience as an expert in the bakery industry with expertise in bakery processes, product development and equipment.
* Skilled in listening to customer needs and acting as a trusted adviser.
* Strong credentials in successfully engaging customer stakeholders.
* Demonstrable aptitude for working alongside sales colleagues to leverage existing relationships and uncover new ones.
* Self-motivated, clear communicator with a passion for building long-lasting customer relationships.
* Flexibility to travel extensively across the UK as sales team and customer needs dictate.
