Digital Sales Solution Engineer
Owing to an internal promotion a unique opportunity has become available to lead Kone’s Digital Solutions in London and the South. In this role you will be working with the sales team who have delivered a market leading position in the volume residential and commercial market sectors in the London & South construction markets. In this role you will be responsible for further enhancing Kone’s position as a global technology leader with a number of strategically important based developers and builders through the profitable growth with our latest elevator and digital solutions.
The successful applicant will work closely with a multiskilled sales team through customer value solution-based sales strategies and is accountable for API and Turnstile delivery, defining and achieving the orders target in regard to value, profitability, and value-added services for the London & South. You will be responsible for interpreting external construction markets and competitor intelligence to formulate a clear and detailed sales strategy and lead by example and will work with the sales team to develop key customer relationships and maximize profitable growth through repeat business. Ideally, this role would be suited to someone with an engineering background, preferably with lifts or similar knowledge and be comfortable in front of customers and be apt on systems such as Microsoft Office, CRM systems and other relevant programs.
Responsibilities and key activities:
KONE Digital Experience (DX):
1. Responsible for delivering 120 Digital API’s into the KONE portfolio per annum.
2. Comprehend the distinctions between KONE's proprietary DX solutions and the APIs we provide and discern how each can contribute to enhancing value-added sales for our clients.
3. Possess the capability to deliver presentations effectively to a diverse range of clients, spanning from individuals with technical expertise to those without technical backgrounds. This entails the ability to tailor content and communication styles to ensure clarity and engagement across different audience profiles.
4. Review, interpret, and comprehend the client's smart building specifications. Collaborate closely with internal smart teams to develop a tailored offering for the client, emphasizing any aspects that we may be unable to fulfil.
5. Maintain and nurture relationships with our current software/ecosystem partners.
6. Engage in networking activities/conferences to identify and onboard additional software and technology companies into the KONE Ecosystem.
7. Collaborate with KONE Technical and Innovation (KTI) as well as local technical colleagues to address and resolve on-site API challenges effectively while advising third-party technical team of progress.
8. Research and gain insights on latest technology trends, smart building infrastructure and future builds.
Turnstiles:
9. Responsible for turnstile Sales of 1.5m (2024)
10. Turnstile Quotations for all the NBS/FRB Salespeople to support turnstile opportunities in the London & South region.
Traffic Study:
11. Collaborate with the sales representative and either the architect, client, or consultant to establish the optimal lift configuration for maximizing people flow, leveraging KONE's BTS tool.Demonstrate proficiency in recognizing the constraints inherent in KONE offerings, ranging from Monospace to Minispace series. Comprehend the implications of contract speed and lift load on shaft sizing, headroom, and pit depth. Familiarize oneself with the stipulations outlined by CIBSE and BCO and strategize on meeting these standards effectively.Conduct simulations utilizing either CIBSE templates or proprietary templates to identify optimal lift configurations. Interpret the outcomes of these simulations, understanding the significance of each graph, and articulate any deviations to the client or consultant.Compile and refine reports to ensure a polished and professional presentation of findings.
Energy Calculation:
12. Determine the compatibility of the current KONE offer with the client's Green Building requirements through thorough calculation and assessment.
13. Advise the salesperson if any changes are required.
14. Produce & edit the report to a professional manner.
BREEAM Report:
15. Produce BREEAM reports using KONE tools to determine KONE offer is suitable to gain BREEAM credits.
Skills & Experiences:
16. Engineering background is essential.
17. Comfortable in a customer facing role.
18. Ability to build rapport and collaborate with others within KONE and externally.
19. Aptitude in networking and building relationships.
20. Adaptability and good problem-solving skills.
21. Good communication skills together with good written and spoken English.
22. Good IT skills.
