Graduate Geotechnical Engineer / Graduate Engineering Geologist

Green Cat Renewables (GCR) is a dynamic, innovative company that provides the complete range of technical services required to deliver renewable energy projects. The team of over 80 Engineers and Environmental Consultants deliver projects on behalf of Clients from four offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Livingston, and Biggar. GCR also works closely with its two sister companies Green Cat Hydrogen based in the UK and Green Cat Renewables Canada based in Calgary.
Green Cat Geotechnical has extensive experience in all aspects of geotechnical assessments, from scoping of ground investigations and drilling boreholes, through in situ and laboratory testing to interpretation, advice and liaison with regulators and other professionals, covering all types of development, not just renewable energy projects.
Our team continues to expand, and we are looking for a professional, dynamic and motivated Graduate Geotechnical Engineer/Graduate Engineering Geologist with the ability to work alone and as part of a team. The successful candidate would be part of the team covering all aspects of ground investigation from desk study, drilling, site and laboratory testing to full interpretative reporting.

The Role
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Assist with the planning, supervision, and programming of Ground Investigation projects at locations throughout the UK, but mainly Scotland.
Work closely with and supervise specialist drillers.
Log soil and rock in accordance with current UK standards.
Perform in-situ testing and sampling in accordance with the UK specification and current technical standards.
Undertake post site work visits for monitoring and sampling.
Prepare factual and interpretative geotechnical, geoenvironmental and mining assessment reports
Liaise with clients, engineers, contractors and sub-contractors at all stages of the project.
The Candidate
The Candidate would ideally have the following:
Degree in a Geology/Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Discipline
Good communications skills
Good organisational skills
Flexible and committed to the role
Relevant UK industry experience (desirable but training will be given)
Hold CSCS Card or gain card within three months
Have a full clean UK driving licence (essential)

Flexibility is required as you will sometimes travel and lodge if the site is too far away from home, with time split between both site (days/nights/weekends) and office/your home.
The role would be a permanent and full-time position.
