Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to undertake mental capacity assessments and to lead on best interest meetings for people who live with restrictions in the community. This individual will work alongside the corporate and legal teams providing support and expertise with Court of Protection cases, completing court-required paperwork and statements.
Main Duties of the Job
The Senior Case Manager will:
1. Undertake clinical requirements of court of protection applications.
2. Ensure Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest Decisions are undertaken for patients who will be subject to restrictions in the community for adults.
3. Establish and maintain effective links and good communication with all specialist mental health and learning disability service providers (NHS and independent sector) who provide services to individuals from Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
4. Provide clinical oversight and sign off for witness statements and court of protection documentation required for the courts in a timely manner.
5. Support court attendance on behalf of the Integrated Care Board as requested by the corporate and legal team.

Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Knowledge and Experience
* Relevant knowledge, training, and competency to undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interest Decision Meetings.
* Current application of mental capacity and best interest decision meetings.
Multidisciplinary Meetings
* Experience of Chairing Multi-disciplinary meetings within a health and social care setting.
