This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced bid writer to join a thriving team and company, who I honestly just love recruiting for.
You will be working as part of an award-winning, well-established family-led company that fosters a supportive and forward-thinking work culture. It is somewhere where you will be proud to work, and they ensure all their staff feel valued.
Role:
As the Bid Writer, you will be tasked with generating to-the-point and persuasive bid proposals, and creating and delivering presentations to public sector (local authority) prospective clients.
This position is available due to expansion and demand, and as the Bid Writer, you will be joining a small but exceptionally successful team consisting of one other Bid Writer, a Senior Bid Writer, and their Head of Bids.
On a day-to-day basis, you could be expected to:
* Ensure that you work to strict deadlines and achieve these internal and external time limits to maximize the likelihood of winning and securing the bid.
* Attend multiple meetings and actively participate, adding valuable contributions.
* Request information from colleagues and relevant parties within set time limits, requiring confidence and assertiveness.
* Consistently update and improve the Bid Library.
* Adapt and refine content to enhance bid responses and re-write old proposals as needed.
* Initiate and build strong working relationships both internally and externally.
* Conduct proactive research, including general market research and specific client research before all meetings.
* Submit completed proposal responses to the Senior Bid Writer or Head of Bid within agreed deadlines, escalating any issues as necessary.
* Develop tailored responses and method statements for each bid, ensuring alignment with client requirements and effectively communicating key win themes.
* Create presentations and supporting handouts for each proposal.
* Review and analyze outcomes following successful or unsuccessful bids to improve future efforts.
* Maintain a flexible attitude when other departments require assistance with copywriting for newsletters, marketing material, or other ad hoc documents.
Requirements:
To be considered for the Bid Writer position, you will ideally have 2 years of experience in bid writing and a proven ability to produce excellent sales and strategy documentation.
