Field Chemist / Technician Location: Southampton Contract: Initial short-term contract | Start date: ASAP Driving required due to rural location Not your average lab job - this is on-the-ground chemical support at one of the UK's busiest refineries. We're hiring for an immediate start at a Southampton Refinery, and we're looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly, take ownership of the site support, and represent a trusted chemical services team with confidence and competence. You'll be working in close coordination with refinery teams to deliver expert support across hydrocarbon processing, fuel additives, and water treatment systems. You'll be the go-to person on site - supported by remote specialists. - In this role, you will: Perform oil and water sampling, testing, and technical documentation Communicate results and recommendations to on-site stakeholders Maintain chemical stock levels and ensure inventory records are kept up to date Monitor and support refinery processes related to chemical treatment and additives Uphold safety and regulatory standards in all aspects of the job - Ideal candidate profile: Degree-qualified or experienced chemist, technician, or chemical engineer Comfortable working independently and taking responsibility for site activities Able to build trust and communicate effectively with operational teams Experience in oil & gas, industrial water treatment or refinery operations ??
