The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting an experienced Offshore Structural Engineer - FEA Analysis to join a well-established leading offshore installation contractor, who specializes in providing engineering and design services for pipelines and large offshore structures that support the Energy sector.
Job Overview:
This role will support a brand new and exciting Offshore Floating Wind Project, details of which are confidential until you are selected for an interview.
In this position, you will be involved in:
* Performing Structural Analysis tasks by means of modelling in Finite Element Structural Analysis software (ABAQUS / ANSYS). Highly skilled in performing detailed stress analysis of offshore structures using Finite Element Techniques.
* Having experience in performing Structural Analysis tasks by means of modelling in company standard structural analysis software (SACS), STAAD, and GT-STRUDL.
* Having experience in performing detailed design calculations in accordance with Saipem's current requirements and the latest Industry Codes and Standards including statutory rules and regulations (DNV GL, API, AISC, EC, and Norsok).
* Reviewing/commenting and approving Structural drawings for steel structures based upon Engineering Design.
* Preparing high-quality Design Reports and maintaining records in accordance with Department Operating Procedures.
* Ensuring that all activities are carried out in a manner consistent with the company's health, safety, quality, and environmental matters in accordance with company-specific procedures.
Requirements needed for this opportunity:
* Ability to apply engineering principles to solve challenging problems and to work effectively within a small team.
* Experience in the design of offshore structures (oil & gas / offshore wind).
* Familiarity with current Offshore Wind Foundation design practices and developments.
* Experience and knowledge of offshore wind regulations, codes of practice, and design standards.
* Familiarity with time domain, spectral, and deterministic methods of fatigue assessment.
* Alternative techniques for solving complex structural problems (sub-modelling, influence matrix).
* Experience in programming (Python, C++) is an advantage.
