Position: Temporary Accounts Assistant

About the Role
A reputable business based in Woolpit is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their finance team on a temporary basis to cover a 9-month maternity leave. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive work environment.
Duties
1. Manage obligations to suppliers, customers, and third-party vendors
2. Reconcile financial statements
3. Prepare, send, and store invoices
4. Report on the status of accounts payable
5. Update internal accounting databases and spreadsheets
6. Liaise with other departments and depots
7. Provide support for purchase ledger
8. Reconcile HMRC records for imports
9. Prepare accruals on a monthly basis for external accountant
10. Provide backup for holiday cover within the team
11. Assist with month-end procedures
12. Support other departments as required
13. Perform any other administrative or accounts procedures as needed
Qualifications and Skills
1. Proven experience in a similar accounts or finance assistant role.
2. Familiarity with accounting software.
3. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
4. Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
