Northumbria Healthcare Facilities Management are currently seeking a Procurement Specialist working on procurement projects within the Healthcare portfolio. The role will be responsible for the procurement of clinical goods and services, supporting our clinical support, pathology, medical and surgical areas of the business.
This role will lead on the procurement of multiple and varied projects, supporting delivery of the required outcomes for NHFM, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (NHCT) and Northumbria Primary Care (NPC) creating positive and functional environments for patients, staff and service users including the general public.
You will be working as part of the Contracting Team, within the wider Procurement Service who provide procurement services to NHFM, NHCT and NPC.
NHFM manage a variety of services which also includes the Northumbria Manufacturing and Innovation Hub

The Role
As part of the Procurement Service and reporting into the Senior Procurement Specialist, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of several procurement activities across NHFM, NHCT and NPC.
As a Procurement Specialist you will demonstrate an ability to draw on a strong set of procurement skills, commercial business acumen and specific experience in the delivery of procurement processes, developed over several years working in the public sector, ideally this will be in a healthcare environment, procuring equipment associated consumables and services. Requirements for this role will include demonstratable experience of leading on procurement processes through to contract award and handover.
Responsibilities
1. Providing specialist procurement and commercial advice and guidance, undertaking procurement activity to deliver the cost reduction programmes/commercial programmes to NHFM and its multiple stakeholders.
2. Delivering and leading on a range of complex procurement projects, including planning and developing procurement/commercial options as required by the Trust and its subsidiaries, ensuring outcomes and timescales are delivered.
3. Managing multiple long-term procurement projects at the same time and involving the interpretation of complex and varied sources of quantitative and qualitative information.
4. Providing procurement and contractual support to income generation projects and the Trust as a whole.
Requirements :
5. Extensive procurement expertise, with experience in clinical goods and services and a healthcare portfolio being advantageous.
6. CIPS Qualified to a minimum of Level 4.
7. Previous experience working in Public Sector procurement with a thorough understanding and experience of the application of Public Sector Procurement Legislation and Regulations.
8. Experience in the Healthcare category is advantageous.
9. Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills.
