Carbon60 are looking for a Senior Vehicle Technician to join a local council and undertake a full range of repairs and maintenance to their fleet of vehicles and equipment. The role will be based in Stoke-on-Trent and the role is subject to high levels of physical effort as well as sometimes disagreeable conditions.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge, skillset and experience within vehicle inspection, MOT testing, preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis. They will be able to carry out M.O.T. testing on Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles and complete documentation as necessary. Furthermore, they will have experience with general engineering work, welding, bench work, machine shop tools and fabrications.
Job Description
Take responsibility for the safety and roadworthiness of the council's transport machinery and equipment
Completing tasks inclusive of fault finding and diagnostic testing of electrics, hydraulics, pneumatics systems as well as machinery powered by gas, diesel oil, petrol or electricity
Carry out MOT testing on Class 4, 5 and 7 vehicles and complete all required paperwork
Complete vehicle diagnostics, repairs and maintenance, vehicle safety inspections on the council's fleet of vehicles including motor vehicles, refuse, road sweepers, gulley vehicles and buses
Test drive vehicles both on or off site to diagnose faults or carry out safety checksSkills and Qualifications
