Based in Oldham our client have been established for over 60 years, ISO 9001 accredited and service a wide range for industries, from Agriculture, MOD, Compressors and Industrial Gas Equipment amongst others.
Batch sizes from 1 off through to 200 off. Tolerances vary by customer and work type.
They require a skilled CNC Programmer/Setter for a busy, fast paced sub contract machine shop.
They operate 12 CNC lathes, Mori Seiki, Okuma and Nakamura some with live tooling. All controls are Fanuc based. Alongside the turning section we have 10 Haas machining centres
About the Role:
⦁ You need the ability to program from drawings and edit on the machine.
⦁ Program set and operate CNC Lathes with live tooling
⦁ Carrying out dimensional and visual checks using appropriate measuring equipment.
⦁ Cad/Cam One CNC Would be an advantage
⦁ Maintaining a clean and safe workplace
⦁ 39 hours per week.
Candidate Requirements:
⦁ Will have undertaken an apprenticeship and must have previous engineering experience and be able to read/ edit and write programs.
⦁ You will be responsible for the setting and running of two machines.
⦁ Fully conversant using Fanuc controls
⦁ Be fully competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
⦁ Responsible for quality
⦁ Enthusiasm to produce the best possible quality.
⦁ Experience working with tight tolerances and deadlines.
⦁ Have a flexible attitude towards working hours as overtime may be required.
⦁ Experience of working to own initiative.
⦁ Good interpersonal/communication skills
