Working under the supervision of the acute medical secretaries and operations support officer you will develop a comprehensive understanding and proficiency in all aspects of Acute Medicine administration work.
The successful apprentice will undertake a Business Administration Apprenticeship Level 3 qualification and will be employed directly by Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Trust for the duration of the apprenticeship, with possible progression opportunities beyond.

Main duties of the job
* To provide administrative and secretarial services across the Acute Medicine Department.
* Support the Department with cross-cover responsibilities for our teams, including providing a communicative link for internal and external enquiries.
* Data entry into Trust systems.
* Assist with and manage the diaries of the Consultants within the team.
* Support with departmental meetings.
* Supporting the Records Assistants to ensure all filing is completed promptly and timely.
* To support general office duties such as photocopying, filing and taking telephone messages and passing them on efficiently.
* To shadow the Acute Medicine professionals to gain insight and knowledge of the role.
* Any other reasonable duties consistent with the role.
