Agency seeking OTs for their books for various ad-hoc placements nationwide. Occupational therapists (OTs) help people with long-term health conditions, disabilities and illnesses, and those who are ageing to adapt their homes and workplaces to meet their needs. You may work with a wide variety of patients, including those who have had traumatic brain injuries, who were born with disabilities or who have experienced a life-changing accident or illness.
Responsibilities
* Provide occupational therapy services to patients in accordance with their individualised treatment plans.
* Help patients adapt to life after major surgical procedures.
* Utilise core skills such as patient care, physiology knowledge, and medical terminology to assess and treat patients effectively.
* Adapt elderly or disabled people’s homes so they do not have to move into residential care.
* Apply premium skills like speech therapy, critical care experience, and case management in specialized settings such as hospitals and ICUs.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients, including those in paediatrics.
* Incorporate relevant skills in medical imaging to enhance diagnostic and treatment processes.
Occupational therapists can work in a number of settings, including:
* Hospitals, including accident and emergencies (A&E) wards where you’ll help plan post-discharge support.
* Specialist units and wards.
* Community clinics.
* Prisons.
* Social services.
