Join us as an Autism Support Practitioner and create a future where learning-disabled people live the best life possible.
A professional qualification in health, education or social care is desirable. In addition, you must also have previous experience supporting individuals within a social care, education or health environment.
The individuals we support have challenging behaviour; therefore, previous experience supporting individuals with Autism is essential.
Do you feel like our values - Kind, Diverse, Positive and Visionary - are a good match to your values? Then we’ve got lots in common already. Come on board and support learning disabled adults with those very values to develop skills, achieve their life goals and thrive in your community.
What we offer you
1. Where you'll be working: Coleford (Forest of Dean)
2. Your salary: £14 per hour, rising to £ per hour from 1st October 2024.
3. Your working hours: early, late and weekend shifts (07:00-14:30, 14:30-22:00, 22:00-07:00). Sleep ins at the service are £60+ per night.
4. Generous Holidays: 33 days of annual leave (including eight days statutory bank holidays).
5. Pay incentives: 10% overtime allowance, 20% Bank Holiday allowance, 50% for key dates over Christmas.
6. Training & development: Earn money while you get a fully funded Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
7. Lots of benefits: Health, retail and cash incentives to use how you want.
What you'll be doing
Every day is different. This can range from supporting someone to plan their weekly shop, to going on an outdoor adventure. Providing everyday personal care to supporting someone to go to their favourite gig. Building someone's confidence in using public transport to teaching money management skills. What's important is supporting people to discover new interests, achieve new goals and maintain important relationships with their family and friends.
You’ll provide the highest possible standard of care and support for learning disabled adults. Listening to their wants and needs, enabling people to do daily tasks such as taking medication, cooking a meal or working with them to build their confidence and take on new adventures they are longing for. All this while working a variety of shifts to support your work and home life balance.
Public transport is limited, therefore a full UK driving licence is desirable for this role.
We can’t wait to meet you at our Coleford service!
