We are looking for a Cover Manager to ensure the effective management of short-term and long-term staff absence by organising and deploying teaching staff to cover lessons, and to take an active part in covering lessons.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is thinking about becoming a teacher, who is currently teaching, or who enjoys working with young people and would like to develop existing skills and experience in a classroom setting in our hardworking and friendly school. While previous teaching experience is certainly relevant it is not essential for the right candidate. The role will suit someone with strong IT skills, the ability to make effective working relationships with all colleagues, and who can demonstrate strong behaviour management and engagement with pupils in the classroom.
Duties include managing absence notifications from colleagues, arranging cover for all teaching staff absences, recording absences in SIMS, and monitoring cover emails throughout the day for any immediate changes to cover requirements. The post-holder will also support with managing room changes for events during the school day and supporting the Examinations Officer in providing invigilators and rooms and associated room changes for both internal and external exams.
