Job summary
The Pharmacy Department is looking for a dynamic, motivated individual to lead the Royal Cornwall Hospital dispensary. You will work closely with the Chief Technician for Supply Services to develop the dispensary team optimising the opportunities provided us by our electronic prescribing system and automated dispensing robotic machine. The Royal Cornwall Hospital dispensary supplies a wide range of organisations with supply services within Cornwall.

Main duties of the job
Responsible for the day to day management of the Royal Cornwall Hospital dispensary covering inpatient, discharge and outpatient prescriptions.
Ensure dispensary targets are met whilst delivering a high level of customer services:
* Supervision and co-ordination of staff, planning staff levels to match workload.
* Training and assessment of all staff including our cohort of student/trainees.
Day to day liaison role with outsourced outpatient dispensary.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
* Pharmacy Technician's Certificate through City & Guilds, Apothecaries Hall or BTEQ and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Services.
* Registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
* Accredited Checking Technician
* Medicines management qualification.
Desirable
* ECDL or equivalent
* NVQ Assessor Award
* NVQ 3 Diploma in Management or Equivalent
* NHS Human Resources Managers courses.
Experience Essential
* Significant experience post qualification as a Pharmacy Technician.
* Hospital pharmacy experience.
* Experience as medicines optimization technician.
Desirable
* Experience of managing staff.
