Summary
Transport Drivers are responsible for building and transporting all galleys to the clients’ specifications for all scheduled flights. This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with time constraints to meet arrival and departure goals. A professional and positive image must be consistently displayed by the employee. The “Lead by Example” concept is strongly promoted.
Transport Drivers must report to work on a regular and timely basis and will report directly to the supervisor and/or manager on duty.
Job Duties
1. Build/strip commissary according to airline specs and schedules within established timelines.
2. Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS).
3. Complete inventories according to airline requirements.
4. Understand and comply with Canada Border Services Agency Memorandum D7-1-1 & D4-1-4.
5. Understand and comply with Transport Canada requirements.
6. Understand and comply with IATA Food Safety requirements.
7. Actively participate in Sky Café’s Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations. Understand, comply with, and promote the company Safety Policy.
8. Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the warehouse at all times.
9. Assist in setup, cleaning, and storage of equipment & warehouse.
10. Responsible for courteous, prompt, accurate, and careful handling of food and goods, including loading and offloading.
11. Receive, perform temperature testing, and inspection of catering deliveries from our food service provider.
12. Operate forklift while observing safe procedures and maintenance of equipment, including the performance of equipment checks.
13. Comply with all Sky Café and airline policies.
14. Transport, load, and unload the aircraft galleys from the warehouse to the aircraft.
15. Constantly communicate with other catering personnel and respective airline communication centers if applicable.
16. Coordination and oversight of aircraft turnaround activities.
17. Ensure that processes are delivered within SLA standards and compliance limits while adhering to safety requirements.
18. Responsible for the safety and security of all employees.
19. Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
1. Be at least 18 years of age.
2. Possess a valid driver’s license.
3. Ability to work on a permanent basis in Canada.
4. Obtain a clear criminal record.
5. Ability to obtain necessary airport and/or Transport Canada security clearances.
6. Ability to obtain necessary airport vehicle operators permit.
7. Must be capable of lifting/pushing/pulling up to 70lbs on a regular basis.
8. Ability to work within the required time parameters.
9. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
10. Must successfully complete airline specific training programs and recertification.
