Broxbourne Council’s current Local Plan has generated many exciting development projects across the Borough, but is now due for a review. Now is the perfect time to join the team and expand your experience as a key player in updating the Local Plan. Broxbourne is located on the northern edge of London and is only 30 minutes from Liverpool Street Station by train. The Lee Valley Regional Park and high-quality Green Belt together with intense pressure for development means that the challenge of finding suitable locations for growth is considerable. You will be part of a small, successful team that includes a S106 specialist and will work creatively on progression of a new Community Infrastructure Levy and on infrastructure projects funded by S106 funding flowing into the Borough from recent developments. The successful candidate will be able to represent the Council and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, will be able to draft reports and explain a range of complex planning policy matters. Suitable planning degree/qualifications as well as familiarity with the National Planning Policy Framework are essential as is a full driving license. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in fluent English is essential in this post. An appointment will be made at either Principal or Senior Planning Officer level depending on applicants’ skills and experience.
