Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Perioperative Care Co-ordinator at University Hospital Crosshouse & University Hospital Ayr
What you will do:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible perioperative care co-ordinator to provide multi-factorial clinical screening of patients waiting for surgery. You will perform face to face and remote Active Clinical Surveillance across tri-Prehabilitation domains of lifestyle, nutrition and psychology. You will signpost patients to the relevant services to support this process.
You will maintain contact with patients every 3 months while they wait for surgery.
You will triage patients into low risk or expedited pre-operative assessment groups.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Diploma in healthcare or equivalent SVQ III in Social or health Care subject
Previous health/social care experience is essential.
Willing to be flexible in respect of work base location and travel across Ayrshire & Arran area.
Ability to work under pressure
Understanding of how to deliver key health promotion messages (including alcohol, smoking cessation, healthy eating and physical activity) as part of their role
