We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Director to join the team. The primary purpose of the role is to lead site managers within their cluster or contract, promoting and ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable sites for the organisation and the customer, and to establish annual and multi-year priorities and growth targets for each site.
The key responsibilities in this role include:
* Define the sites operational potential based on the business strategy and ensure operations are performing to their potential in a simple and sustainable way.
* Review the customers regulatory and internal audit results and action plans and develop existing local process frameworks accordingly to avoid a repetition of any negative audit points.
* Lead commercial reviews with the customers (growth and renewal) affecting all the sites and develop customer relationships year-on-year to ensure customer retention and loyalty.
* Lead the overall approach to resource planning and management, ensuring direct reports are recruited, assessed, trained, and resources are planned to meet the forecasted volumes and managed to achieve optimum performance within budget.
* Accountable for the overall multi-year performance of the sites, including achievement of agreed customer KPIs, delivering site budget, financial results, and other internal KPIs, ensuring the KPIs are maintained to the required level and lead initiatives to continuously improve.
* Lead and participate in Performance Dialogs, Gemba walks, and Town Hall meetings, leading by example to reinforce behaviours associated with our culture.

* Sound understanding and experience of operational processes.
* Previous experience in managing large scale logistics.
* Capability of planning, defining, and deploying strategic plans.
* Experience in running multiple sites geographically spread throughout the UK.
* Leadership skills, with experience in managing several reporting layers below.
* Commercial Acumen, Stakeholder Management, Ability to influence, Negotiation skills, with the Ability to lead change initiatives.
