Job summary We are looking for a passionate and ambitious Pharmacy assistant to join our friendly and supportive team here at the Bristol Royal Infirmary site. You must be highly organized, have excellent people and communication skills along with the ability to adapt quickly to new situations and challenges. After showing competency in the main responsibilities to the required standard, you will be considered for training towards participation in duties that involve patient level medication supply & advice. This will require the ATO to be willing to train in role for the Pharmacy Service Assistant (PSA) Apprenticeship. Which is a requirement of the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) for pharmacy support staff involved in these duties. Main duties of the job Initially the General Duties ATO is responsible for assisting the dispensing services to inpatients & outpatients through the following responsibilities. Ensuring the dispensary is kept tidy and has all the items available that are used in supplying medicines to patients - these including making sure that the dispensary has sufficient stocks of bottles, tops, boxes, bags, labels etc. The ATO also supports areas of stock keeping & management of pharmaceuticals including stock check, goods receipt and stock preparation. For this purpose the ATO will be fully trained to use the robot. The ATO will regularly support the dispensary service in providing a friendly, professional and informative front line service to all internal dispensary customers. Support will also be given by the ATO in answering the telephone and dealing with tracking and simple internal and external enquiries Later training under supervision to be a Dispensing ATO, assisting in the dispensing process of patient level medicines in the dispensary & ensure they are safely issued to patients.
