A well-established and respected law firm in Southeast London is looking to recruit a proactive and professional Legal Secretary to join its busy Private Client team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong secretarial experience in Wills, Probate, and LPAs, who takes pride in delivering excellent client service.
The Role:
You will provide high-quality secretarial and administrative support to fee earners in the Private Client department, helping ensure the smooth running of files and daily operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, excellent organisational skills, and a friendly, client-facing manner.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparing and formatting legal documents and correspondence
* Audio and copy typing (including Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney)
* Managing diaries, booking appointments, and handling client queries
* Filing, scanning, and maintaining electronic and paper records
* Assisting with file opening, AML checks, and matter management
* Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties in a professional manner
Requirements
1. Experience as a legal secretary, ideally in a private client department
2. Excellent typing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
3. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
4. Discreet, empathetic, and comfortable dealing with sensitive matters
5. Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise a busy workload
