Work
As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.
What you’ll do at work
As part of our CMP team you will be supporting and assisting the project engineers in the delivery of a portfolio of small/medium sized capital projects which includes the following activities.
* Managing and delivering a portfolio of mechanical, electrical, civil, control and instrumentation projects with a value of up to £5 million per annum
* Working closely with Thames Water operations and our contractor supply chain to scope, specify and cost, quality solutions that are both fit for purpose and value for money.
* Actively promote our zero-compromise attitudes to health and safety, always striving for continuous improvement
* Comply with health and safety requirements, ensuring that all projects built and designed comply with the Construction Design and Management Regulations (CDM)
* Work collaboratively with delivery partners/contractors to ensure that schemes deliver on time, minimising the risk to the business
* Drafting, vetting and approving RAMS, pre-construction information, project plans, construction phase H&S plans (CPP) and commissioning plans
* Overseeing the commissioning and handover of the project to the operational client
* Ensuring appropriate training has been completed and that completion documents are available and handed over including test certificates and constructed drawings

Your training plan
As part of your apprenticeship programme, you’ll study the relevant Certificate of Higher Education through UCEM 1 day a week to gain the theoretical background via virtual delivery
