Role: We are currently looking to integrate a Head of Commercial to continue growing and supporting our Commercial department. The candidate will be responsible for liaising with internal & external stakeholders inorder to expand and lead a team of QS’ in the financial management of projects ranging in value from £1M - £20M per project. Job Title: Head of Commerical - Decarb Location: Mallusk Hours: 38 hours.8.00am to 5.00pm Mon to Thurs & 8.00am to 3.00pm Friday Salary: Competitive Depending on Experience Responsible to: Associate Director Closing Date: TBC Core Responsibilities of role: We have detailed below some of the key elements of this role, Be the go-to person for all things commercial within the department and take ownership of department priorities and resourcing. Accountable for commercial activities across the business to ensure they are aligned with the company core values, objectives and delivery plans including assessing the risk to the company of any new opportunities. Lead the streamlining of commercial activities within the company and drive the team to continuous improvement. Work closely with the Business Development & Operation teams to manage key customers (existing and new), thereby improving turnover and profitability. Direct and assist commercial team in their day-to-day activities and ensure department is suitably resourced. Liaising with contracts, estimating and pre-construction teams to obtain full understanding of each project scope and steering the commercial team on delivery of same. Review and sign off on project package allowances prior to handover for tendering of works by operations team. Review & sign off on subcontractor package awards. Steer and direct the QS team in the review and interrogation of new and existing contracts, orders and suppliers to ensure associated terms and conditions are relevant and acceptable. Manage and update monthly WIP across all active Decarb projects. Responsible for managing financial control and the commercial strategy throughout the delivery of projects. Steer and sign off on QS monthly job performance reviews and lead the feedback of same to directors. Take charge & direct monthly commercial meetings to provide update on any ongoing contract specific negotiations and overall job/department performance. Essential Criteria: Third level qualification in a Surveying or Cost Engineering discipline or can demonstrate an equivalent level of experience. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar Commercial role, ideally in the M&E sector. Commercially astute and ambitious. High standard of attention to detail, organisational and time management skills. Highly IT literate, especially in Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
