The client is a design-led, London-based residential property developer seeking a Senior Technical Architect or Technical Associate to assist with Stage 4 onwards on a residential development in central London. Their portfolio spans mid-range to high-end residential apartments and mixed-use commercial projects. Established in 2009, they are behind some of London's most refined luxury residential and interiors projects.
The role will focus on stage 3 onwards for a large-scale residential scheme in central London, comprising over 300 units. The successful candidate will split their time between the office and on-site. They will be joining an existing in-house team of architects and interior designers, working closely with a 50-person team that includes project/design managers and an in-house construction team.
As this is a senior technical role, the position offers an opportunity to work in a client-side capacity, where the founders and partners act as the client, providing first-hand experience in stakeholder management throughout the project lifecycle. This role is well suited to technically focused architects who want to specialize in residential development through to interiors.
Applicants must have and be eager to further develop their experience in delivering multi-unit residential projects. A thorough understanding of façade detailing and whole-building coordination is essential. This role is particularly suited to those with UK project experience, ideally in central London.
Key Skills and Experience:
* ARB or CIAT registered with a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience, specializing in Stages 3 - 5 detailing and project delivery.
* In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and standards, along with a clear understanding of Building Safety Act responsibilities and Gateway requirements
* Strong proficiency in technical detailing with a proven track record of excellence.
* Essential experience in modelling and detailing using ArchiCAD, with additional proficiency in SketchUp and Enscape preferred.
* Skilled in sequencing and scheduling detailed design tasks, as well as assembling architectural tender packages.
* Extensive Stage 5 site experience, including CDP work and collaboration with specialist subcontractors.
* Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate complex building projects alongside the wider consultant team.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical design capabilities, excellent communication and management skills, and a genuine passion for materials and the art of building construction. Prior experience in delivering multi-unit residential developments is essential, along with a solid understanding of façade detailing and whole-building coordination.
