Purpose Development of ARDEX & Building Adhesives System specifications for core/premium products in key market sectors including transport, retail, restaurants, marine, leisure, education and health and also specific product sectors such as Natural Stone. It will also be the Business Development Manager’s responsibility to identify and investigate potential commercial market sectors, for both existing and future products. In all cases to identify and develop relationships at senior level, to promote the ARDEX GROUP partnership/SYSTEM approach and to develop ARDEX/BAL as the preferred supplier/specification. To develop strategic alliances with complementary flooring and tiling manufacturers. In addition to these functions employees are required to carry out such other duties as may reasonably be required Responsibilities Your responsibilities are split between multiple functions: Area of Activity Education Healthcare House Builders Commercial Premises Major Retail Store Groups Swimming Pools, Leisure Centres National Restaurant Chains Local and Health Authorities Major Projects & associated specifiers and contractors Strategic Alliances with Complementary Manufacturers Main Aims To establish standard specification packages to suit the application in each sector and the use of ARDEX GROUP products and service within all programmes of work, whether new build or refurbishment To develop ARDEX as the 'preferred supplier’ in both tiling, flooring and screeding To establish ARDEX as the most reliable source of advice and information To establish ARDEX as a business partner providing an added value service Develop long term strategies for each complementary manufacturer and market sector Maintain live information on each client or customer to include personnel movement, project programmes, etc Investigate and develop agreed action plans with respect to identified major projects and then implement and co-ordinate with the support of the Head of Business Development, Area Managers, Marketing Department and Technical Services Main Duties/Planning Develop profiles on each client/organisation to include key managers, departments, agents, decision-making process, people of influence and competition activity Establish and give suitable presentations or CPD seminars of ARDEX GROUP products and support package Co-ordinate the services of the HQ Team as necessary to provide HQ or local support via the Departmental Manager Liaise with the Area Managers on programmes of work for major groups and clients Ensure ARDEX UK Ltd has all relevant programmes of work and is regularly updated As deemed necessary, provide regular reports on business development role and client activities Liaise with Head of Business Development and Marketing on promotional activity. Define targets for each group or client and compare with actual results Co-operate with Head of Business Development and Commercial Director to develop budgets with respect to sales, expenditure, and marketing Develop long term strategies/activities into plans, i.e. seminars, training sessions. Establish and maintain good lines of communication Respond to all reasonable requests for meetings, letters, assistance, etc., in a prompt and efficient manner Identify contractors who have been nominated to carry out work and work with the relevant Area Managers to ensure appropriate pricing and success in completing the project Develop working relationships with complementary manufacturers within the flooring screeding and tiling industry, working with them in partnership, with the aim of developing the relationship to the point whereby they only specify ARDEX materials in conjunction with their products Prepare monthly Management reports giving relevant information on sales developments and activities. Also provide market information through established reporting channels, continuing to develop a database of all contacts that forms part of the Company’s CRM system New Markets Co-operate and co-ordinate with the Head of Business Development, Marketing, Technical and Area Managers The BDM will develop new markets/products through an agreed action plan, Establishing the new market/product criteria within the programme time scale Prior to passing over responsibility to the nominated internal employee, who will then develop the confirmed market sector to its full sales potential Qualifications Good general levels of education, qualifications in line with the job function.
