As part of the Crisis Readiness & Response Team, this focuses on supporting clients in responding to and recovering from cyber incidents. Key responsibilities include leading the response to high-impact events such as ransomware attacks, data breaches, and other complex cybersecurity threats. This requires orchestrating technical and organizational recovery efforts, working with specialized teams, and ensuring the delivery of actionable guidance during critical situations.
This position involves interacting with senior executives, including C-suite leaders and board members, to provide updates, strategic insights, and confidence during incidents. The individual will act as a trusted advisor, balancing technical knowledge with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
The ideal candidate demonstrates expertise in cyber crisis management, strong leadership skills, and a collaborative approach, making them an integral part of ensuring organizational resilience.
Key Experience and Qualifications:
* Security Clearance: Candidates must either hold or be eligible to acquire UK government security clearance, as the role may involve engagements with sensitive data and operations in government or critical national infrastructure sectors.
* Familiarity with Government Operations: Experience working with government organizations, understanding their unique operational structures, regulatory requirements, and the expectations of public sector incident response.
* Leadership in Cybersecurity: Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, including technical specialists, legal advisors, and communications experts, through the lifecycle of a cyber incident.
* Executive Engagement: Experience interacting with senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives and government officials, providing clear, concise updates and strategic recommendations under time-sensitive conditions.
* Crisis Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage stakeholder relationships, ensure alignment of response efforts, and provide assurance during high-stakes situations.
* Frameworks and Standards: Familiarity with relevant standards such as NIS-2, DORA, NCSC best practices, and ISO/IEC 27035 for incident response.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in operational technology (OT) environments or critical national infrastructure.
* Knowledge of geopolitical cyber threats and trends affecting government and public sector entities.
* Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC certifications related to incident handling (e.g., GCIH).
